JAS Achieves IATA CEIV Fresh Certification, First in Indonesia for Global-Standard Perishable Cargo Services

Jakarta, August 19, 2025 – PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta (JAS), a leading ground handling service provider in Indonesia, held a ceremony to celebrate its achievement of the IATA CEIV Fresh Certification, making it the first ground handling company in Indonesia to obtain this prestigious accreditation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The event, held at Hotel Morrissey, Jakarta, was attended by representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, IATA, airline partners, industry associations, and the media. This certification confirms that JAS has met international standards for handling perishable goods, particularly marine products like fish, shrimp, and other export commodities.

“This certification is a tangible testament to our commitment to providing ground handling services that are not only reliable in infrastructure but also supported by trained and certified human resources. We are proud to be part of Indonesia’s global-standard export logistics chain,” said Andry Tanzil, Commissioner of PT JAS.

The CEIV Fresh (Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Perishable Logistics) certification is awarded to companies that meet high standards in managing perishable cargo, from handling processes at the airport, temperature monitoring, and storage, to distribution. This is highly relevant for Indonesia’s marine and fisheries sector, which is a key contributor to national exports.

Berny Achmad Sauki, Director of Logistics at the Directorate General for Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products, also expressed his appreciation, “We welcome PT JAS’s initiative to improve the standards of marine product logistics handling through the CEIV Fresh certification. This is in line with the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of marine and fishery products in the global market. We hope the synergy between the logistics and fisheries sectors will continue to be enhanced to boost national exports.”

During the event, IATA symbolically handed over the CEIV Fresh certification to JAS’s management, represented by its board of directors and commissioners. The ceremony also included a photo session and a networking lunch that brought together stakeholders from various industry sectors.

“We are pleased to collaborate with JAS, which has shown exceptional readiness in implementing the CEIV Fresh standards. This achievement is a testament to their commitment to quality control and adherence to global best practices in managing temperature-sensitive shipments, and it is a crucial step in strengthening the perishable product logistics ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region,” stated Sheldon Hee, IATA Regional Vice President Asia-Pacific.

With this success, JAS hopes to contribute more significantly to the efficiency and quality of Indonesia’s marine exports, while also strengthening its position as a strategic partner for industry players and regulators in both the national and international logistics sectors.
