JAS Aero Engineering Welcomes New Customer Scoot with Inaugural Flight at Kertajati International Airport

Majalengka, 28 September 2024 – Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), officially launched its inaugural flight from Singapore’s Changi International Airport (SIN) to Kertajati International Airport (KJT), marking the first time Scoot operates the advanced Embraer E190-E2 aircraft in Indonesia. This new route, positioned to strengthen Kertajati’s role as an emerging international hub, is scheduled to operate twice weekly, departing Singapore at 05:00 local time and arriving in Kertajati at 06:05 local time, with the return flight departing Kertajati at 06:40.

The Embraer E190-E2, a next-generation aircraft, brings enhanced fuel efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, lower noise levels, and increased passenger comfort to the route. Located in Majalengka, West Java, Kertajati International Airport—also known as West Java International Airport (BIJB)—is poised to play a strategic role in improving regional access and boosting economic growth across Java and its surrounding areas.

As Scoot’s trusted Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) partner, PT JAS Aero Engineering Services (JAE) is responsible for ensuring Scoot’s flight operations meet the highest standards of safety and airworthiness. In addition to Kertajati, JAE currently supports Scoot’s operations in major Indonesian cities, including Jakarta, Bali, Makassar, Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, Manado, Lombok, and Yogyakarta.
