Denpasar, June 26, 2024 – Etihad Airways today celebrated the inaugural flight of its new direct route from Abu Dhabi to Denpasar, opening a gateway for travelers between the UAE and Bali. The first flight, EY 476, touched down at 11:45 WITA, with the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner carrying passengers eager to explore Bali’s renowned cultural and natural beauty. Operating four times a week, this route is set to enhance connectivity and bring significant economic benefits to both regions.
The arrival ceremony was marked by a traditional water salute for the aircraft, symbolizing a warm welcome to Bali. VVIP guests and passengers were greeted with Balinese flower arrangements and a cultural dance, underscoring Bali’s hospitality and vibrant heritage. The celebration continued with a cake-cutting ceremony, creating memorable moments for attendees.
PT Jasa Angkasa Semesta Tbk (JAS) and PT JAS Aero Engineering (JAE) were entrusted by Etihad Airways as its key partners for this inaugural flight, providing essential ground handling, cargo handling, and aircraft certification release services. This partnership highlights Etihad Airways’ commitment to delivering seamless service while underscoring JAS and JAE’s reputation for excellence in airport operations and engineering services.
