PT JAS Aero Engineering Services Welcomes Scoot’s Inaugural Singapore-Padang Flight

Padang, January 6, 2025 – PT JAS Aero Engineering Services (JAE) proudly welcomes the inaugural flight of Scoot, a low-cost airline and a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), on its new Singapore-Padang route. Scoot will serve this route using Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, with departure from Singapore’s Changi International Airport (SIN) at 12:00 local time and arrival at Minangkabau International Airport (PDG) at 12:25 local time. The return flight from Padang to Singapore is scheduled to depart at 13:00 local time. This route will initially operate twice weekly and, starting January 10, 2025, will increase to four weekly flights. Additional departure options from Singapore include flights at 16:55 local time, arriving in Padang at 17:20 local time, with the return flight departing at 17:55 local time. 

Previously, PT JAS Aero Engineering Services announced a significant enhancement to its maintenance and aircraft support services by introducing the capability to provide certification services for Embraer aircraft, specifically the Embraer E190-E2. This advancement solidifies JAE’s position as a leading Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) provider in Indonesia, underscoring its commitment to supporting both domestic and international airline operations. 

The new Scoot international route to Padang and technical support from PT JAS Aero Engineering Services reflect a mutual commitment to advancing the aviation industry while strengthening connectivity between Singapore and Indonesia. Iman Sinambela, President Director of PT JAS Aero Engineering Services, expressed enthusiasm for this collaboration:

On September 28, 2024, PT JAS Aero Engineering Services became the first MRO in Indonesia to certify the airworthiness of the Embraer E190-E2 at Kertajati International Airport, West Java. This milestone reaffirms JAE’s dedication to being at the forefront of the national aviation industry while supporting the government in strengthening air connectivity. JAE also enthusiastically welcomed Scoot’s inaugural flights using the Embraer E190-E2 in other major Indonesian cities, including Balikpapan (October 11), Pekanbaru (October 12), Makassar (October 13), and now Padang (January 6, 2025). 

JAE continues to expand its capacity and capability to support domestic and international airlines, positioning Indonesia as a key hub in the global aviation network.
